Purdue has received a $42 million commitment from longtime benefactor and alumnus Roland G. Parrish to name the new flagship facility within the Mitch Daniels School of Business. The building, which is set to open in fall 2027, will be called the Roland G. Parrish Hall of Business. This gift represents the largest contribution from an individual for a facility in university history.
The Board of Trustees approved a named chair, a distinguished professor and three named professors, along with resolutions of appreciation and namings.
Recognizing the continued strong demand for affordable on-campus housing, the Board of Trustees approved housing and dining rates for the 2027-28 academic year. Trustees approved a modest, tiered increase in housing rates, with nearly 80% of beds increasing by less than $300 (3.2%) for the academic year. The new rates allow for inflationary cost increases, reinvestment in housing assets and sustainable increases in future capacity.
Purdue continues to advance its strategy of bringing the university’s STEM strengths to the heart of Indianapolis, expanding distinctive academic programs while strengthening industry and community partnerships to respond to the state of Indiana’s workforce needs. Recent developments include the launch of new programs in pre-medicine, hospitality and tourism management, sport management, athletic training, and construction management — all sectors that lean into the city’s strengths. Major facilities to expand student support and faculty research are also taking shape, with the 248,000-square-foot Academic Success Building scheduled for occupancy in July 2027 and the acquisition of the Northwest Indianapolis
Research Building, which will significantly expand wet-lab capacity.
