Purdue is utilizing its analytical thinking and strategic planning DNA in the business arena, preparing students for an economy where business and STEM are inseparable. Seeking to be the nation’s most forward-looking business school, the Mitch Daniels School of Business this summer vigorously recruited and hired 34 top-caliber faculty members. And applications to the Daniels School of Business, ranked among the best business schools in the world, grew by over 13% in the last year alone, with a record high rate for applicants choosing to attend.
Lisa Mauer, a professor of food science, is an expert on food materials – how foods change in response to different formulations, processing or storage conditions. She studies how sugars affect starches, working toward reduced sugar food products that still look and taste good to consumers.
Qi Zhou, professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, has been elected as a 2025 American Physical Society fellow, a prestigious recognition given to scientists who have made exceptional contributions to physics. He was selected for this honor by the Council of Representatives of the APS’s Division of Atomic, Molecular & Optical Physics.
Tom Segura’s “Come Together” tour will stop at Purdue at 8 p.m. Friday (Oct. 24). Segura is best known for Netflix specials "Ball Hog," "Disgraceful," "Mostly Stories," "Completely Normal" and "Sledgehammer." Segura can also be seen starring in the Netflix dark comedy series "Bad Thoughts," which he also wrote and produced through his YMH Studios.
Purdue Global graduate Kendra Newhart supports hundreds of people in her community as a co-owner of Fearless Power and Strength and an exercise science instructor at the Greater Lafayette Career Academy.
