“Practical Bioinformatics: A Laboratory Manual” co-authored by Michael Gribskov, a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, is a lab-based manual designed to help students and researchers navigate the rapidly advancing field of bioinformatics. The manual offers hands-on guidance for handling large biological data and understanding key concepts, including the use of sequence comparisons to infer protein function and the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data for gene expression.
