In “Global Bunyan and Visual Art,” English professor Angelica Duran focuses on the global reach of John Bunyan’s works and legend through multiple media, such as shieldry, stained glass and Marvel comics. The book, which is Duran’s 10th published title, provides a unique opportunity to discover the varied and generative influence of Bunyan, promoting a varied appreciation of the unparalleled reach of his most famous work, “The Pilgrim’s Progress.”
Faculty, staff, alumni and students recently celebrated 20 years of research achievements at the Bindley Bioscience Center. The festivities started Oct. 2 with Purdue leadership, faculty and alumni gathering for an evening of dinner, networking, and a discussion on the shared vision and founding of the Bindley Bioscience Center. Some honored guests in attendance were donor and alumnus Bill Bindley, former Purdue President Martin Jischke, and past and current Board of Trustees chairs Tim McGinley and Gary Lehman.

Cathie Aime, professor of botany and plant pathology in the College of Agriculture, will present “The Coffee Leaf Rust Fungus: Unraveling the Origins and Causes Behind One of Earth’s Most Notorious Agricultural Pathogens” from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Westwood, the Purdue president’s residence.
