With the extra challenge of more plant disease and extreme weather events, plant breeding is essential to feeding, clothing and building the growing world today. Beck’s Hybrids has been working toward predictive breeding for over a decade and recently partnered with eight Purdue professors, several graduate students and The Data Mine to build a genetic-informed prediction service for its plant breeders and farmers.
Improvements to aphasia recovery methodologies are being explored in Purdue associate professor Jiyeon Lee’s Aphasia Recovery Lab. Lee, a researcher in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, collaborated with her PhD student Peng Zhang on the new study, “Improving Content Informativeness in Aphasia.”
