For the second consecutive year, Purdue’s main campus surpassed 10,000 graduates during its spring commencement ceremonies May 14-16 at Elliott Hall of Music. Two distinguished Boilermakers were also honored during the ceremonies:
Drew Brees received an honorary Doctor of Business from the Mitch Daniels School of Business, and Tim Cahill received an honorary Doctor of Engineering from the College of Engineering. The ceremonies were livestreamed and can be viewed on the Purdue News YouTube channel.
Purdue’s College of Engineering has selected a diverse group of students in multiple disciplines in the inaugural cohort for its new Bachelor’s to Doctorate in 7 Years program — an accelerated, milestone-driven pathway designed to prepare exceptional undergraduates for advanced research careers and leadership in industry and national laboratories.
In “Investigating Transport Accidents: Human Performance and Intelligent Systems,” Debra Henneberry, an assistant professor in Purdue Polytechnic Institute’s School of Aviation and Transportation Technology, explores the intersection of human factors and advanced AI analytics. This work introduces an integrated framework for navigating complex socio-technical environments, offering engineers and policymakers practical insights into systemic modeling and proactive failure detection.
Bryan Arbic has accomplished a lot in his lifetime, but he never thought he’d add a master’s degree to the list. Arbic signed up for Purdue Global courses in 2024 while working full-time as the assistant director of Purdue’s Veteran and Military Success Center. And by the time he completed his degree requirements, a new opportunity was waiting for him to seize.
