Purdue ranks among top 50 global research universities powering innovation
Purdue University, known for its pioneering advancements and leadership in impactful research, has made the latest list of the 50 most innovative higher education institutions in the world. Purdue is ranked No. 47 worldwide and No. 29 among private and public universities in the United States in the Top 50 Universities Powering Global Innovation report for 2024 by Clarivate, a leading global provider of transformative intelligence. Purdue was the only university from the state of Indiana on the list.

Spring 2025 Commencement ceremonies start Thursday; livestream available
For the first time, Purdue’s main campus will confer more than 10,000 degrees in a single commencement. The Class of 2025 includes 7,997 undergraduates, 2,167 graduate students, 220 students from professional programs and 85 students from Purdue Polytechnic Institute’s statewide programs who are eligible to participate in the ceremonies. Spring commencement ceremonies will take place at Elliott Hall of Music on Thursday through Sunday (May 15-18), and all divisions will be livestreamed on the Purdue University News YouTube  channel.

Registration for Spring Fling activities closes Friday
Faculty, staff, graduate student staff and retirees have until 5 p.m. Friday to register for certain activities held during Spring Fling, the annual appreciation event taking place from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 22 at and around Memorial Mall.

Lilly-Purdue 360 announcement garners extensive media coverage
The Lilly-Purdue 360 announcement on Friday (May 9) achieved significant media attention. Purdue and Eli Lilly and Company announced an expansion of their long-standing academic agreement with Lilly’s planned investment of up to $250 million to the collaboration over the next eight years. The announcement generated more than 350 media hits nationwide, including about 90 hits in Indiana alone.
