Purdue Research Foundation continues to highlight National Academy of Inventors fellows at Purdue whose collaborative, multidisciplinary research is translated into real-world technologies that benefit society. This week’s fellow is J. Paul Robinson, a Distinguished Professor of Cytometry and SVM Professor of Cytomics in the College of Veterinary Medicine’s Department of Basic Medical Sciences. Robinson’s team invented spectral flow cytometry, the basis of all current commercial instruments and considered one of the most significant technologies in the field of single-cell biological detection using fluorescence.
The 2026 Purdue Innovates and Purdue Alumni Entrepreneurship Network Startup and Technology Expo highlighted and showcased Purdue’s finest innovators and entrepreneurs including students, faculty, staff, startups and issued patent recipients.
The Purdue Memorial Union will again host its free summer concert series every Friday evening, beginning June 5, throughout the months of June and July, except the week of July 4. Live music will be played from 6 to 8 p.m. on the East Terrace. Tables and chairs will be available, but guests are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to sit on the front lawn.

Today is Facilities Management Day — a day to recognize Keifer and the many service workers who help power Purdue behind the scenes.
Purdue Engineering’s Design Expo and the School of Mechanical Engineering’s Malott Innovation Awards, hosted jointly at the Purdue Armory, featured more than 1,000 students contributing to nearly 180 projects, including 44 that were sponsored by industry partners. Additionally, more than 100 students from various Indiana high schools visited the expo for their Purdue campus trip. Engineering’s Design Expo is held annually to showcase student work including senior design, PMP capstone, EPICS, VIP and independent student projects.
