Degas sculpture
Opening reception for Degas Collection at Purdue scheduled for Sept. 17
Purdue will host an opening reception Sept. 17 at the Purdue Memorial Union for a collection of 74 sculptures by French impressionist Edgar Degas. Valued at more than $21 million with a market value of as much as $52 million, the collection represents the largest gift in the history of Purdue’s College of Liberal Arts.

Purdue names 2 new leaders for research
Karen Plaut, executive vice president for research, has announced appointments in two key leadership positions in Purdue’s Office of Research. Jennifer (Perkins) Wonder has been named assistant vice president for strategic initiatives, and Kaethe Beck was named assistant vice president for strategic impact in life and health sciences for the Institutes and Centers at Discovery Park District at Purdue.

Purdue ranks No. 1 among U.S. public universities conferring AI-related bachelor’s degrees. Purdue offers two AI bachelor’s degrees, a BS in computer science and a BA in philosophy, as well as a new online Master of Science AI degree.
