AGE Fisher Family Foundation commits $10M to establish engineering innovation and entrepreneurship center
Purdue has received a $10 million commitment from the AGE Fisher Family Foundation to establish an innovation and entrepreneurship center within the College of Engineering. The foundation was created by longtime donors Jeff (BS electrical engineering ’80) and Edie (BS retail management ’80) Fisher.

Drawing inspiration from nature to formulate new pharmaceuticals
Karthik Sankaranarayanan, assistant professor of agricultural and biological engineering, trained in two quite different scientific subfields as a graduate student and as a postdoctoral researcher. Now at Purdue, he aims to combine those fields in a project that will use artificial intelligence to plan the synthesis of complex new pharmaceutical agents.

Manfra appointed Purdue’s chief quantum officer
Purdue announced Tuesday (March 3) that quantum computing expert Michael Manfra has been appointed chief quantum officer, which became effective Jan. 1. He is currently the director of the Purdue Quantum Science and Engineering Institute.

First Family to host fourth annual Easter egg hunt at Westwood
President Mung Chiang and First Lady Kei Hui will host the fourth annual Easter egg hunt for faculty, staff and graduate student families with children ages 12 and under at Westwood on March 29. Two sessions will be held and will feature an egg hunt, special treats and photo opportunities. Register by March 10.
