10 Purdue faculty chosen as fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science
Purdue is recognizing 10 faculty members who have been elected fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, among the highest distinctions in the scientific community. The honor recognizes members whose efforts to advance science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished. Purdue’s 2025 class matches last year’s total, tying the highest number of Boilermakers elected in six decades.

Staff Excellence: Capital Asset Management
It is hard to miss when a new multimillion-dollar building is being constructed at Purdue. Whether it be a new building project or the renovation of an existing space, an entire team is responsible for the services required to successfully deliver the project. This falls to the Capital Asset Management department, which consists of project managers; construction managers; asset managers; estimators; and engineers in mechanical, electrical and civil.

National Academy of Inventors fellows: Edward Delp
Purdue Research Foundation continues to highlight National Academy of Inventors fellows at Purdue whose collaborative, multidisciplinary research is translated into real-world technologies that benefit society. This week's fellow is Edward Delp, the Charles William Harrison Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and director of the Video and Image Processing Laboratory. Delp works in multimedia security, image and video processing, and medical imaging. His research has led to significant advancements in applications ranging from health care to national security.

In Print: ‘Protocols in Root-Microbe Interactions’
Anjali Iyer-Pascuzzi, professor of botany and plant pathology, has written a laboratory guide featuring optimized techniques for quantifying immune responses in plant roots. “Protocols in Root-Microbe Interactions” provides detailed molecular and histological methods for studying cellular-scale interactions, offering adaptable procedures for isolating bacteria and examining plant-microbe relationships across various species.

A Purdue professor’s pioneering role as a sports historian
Through his teaching, research and especially his writing, Randy Roberts helped change how sports history is perceived within academia. He also changed the lives of a network of scholars who studied under his guidance at Purdue. Today, these former students say Roberts’ mentorship prepared them for their own careers as successful teachers and authors.
