Purdue marks grand opening of Third Coast Foundry during San Francisco Deep Tech Week
Third Coast Foundry officially celebrated its grand opening and ribbon cutting during San Francisco’s 2026 Deep Tech Week, marking a significant milestone in strengthening connections between Midwestern innovation and the Bay Area’s global venture network. The new hub, located in San Francisco’s South Park neighborhood, serves as a physical landing place for startups, researchers and entrepreneurs affiliated with Purdue and seven other leading Midwestern universities.

Smith, Kaufman-Renn picked in second round of NBA draft; Loyer, Cluff to play in Summer League
A group of Purdue basketball’s most decorated players are entering another milestone: the NBA. Braden Smith was selected by the Chicago Bulls as the 38th pick in the second round of the 2026 NBA draft and later traded to the Indiana Pacers, while Trey Kaufman-Renn was the Minnesota Timberwolves’ choice with the 59th overall pick. Fellow Boilermakers Fletcher Loyer and Oscar Cluff both signed free-agent contracts for the NBA Summer League. Cluff will play for the Houston Rockets, and Loyer signed an exhibit-10 contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.
