$2.5M Ricks Family Foundation donation seeds new Heartland Children’s Nutrition Collaborative
A $2.5 million donation to Riley Children’s Foundation from the Ricks Family Foundation — along with another $2.5 million challenge match — are the catalyst for a new joint research initiative between Purdue and Indiana universities. The Heartland Children’s Nutrition Collaborative will combine the strength and expertise of Purdue’s Department of Food Science and the IU School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics to discover how early-life food intake can shape and influence both short-term and long-term health.

PhD student earns high placement in popular cognitive engineering research competition
Zixu Zhang, a PhD student in the technology program at Purdue Polytechnic Institute, has received notable recognition by earning third place from over 600 entries in the Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making Technical Group student paper competition. This competition was held at the 67th International Annual Meeting for Human Factors and Ergonomics Society.
