A Purdue research team has launched a project to create the world’s largest metaverse in forestry research. Jingjing Liang, associate professor of quantitative forest ecology, and Rajesh Kalyanam, a senior research scientist at Purdue’s Rosen Center for Advanced Computing, will grow this metaverse from Science-i, a web-based collaborative platform Liang founded in 2016.
Purdue researchers led by Shreyas Sen, the Elmore Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, have invented a wireless brain implant that can transmit electro-quasistatic signals. Their findings show broadband communication with the neural implants could enable superior medical treatments and eventually allow us to control electronics with our minds.
The Office of the Vice President for Ethics and Compliance has announced the recipients of the 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. Dreamer Award. The Dreamer Award has been presented annually since 2004 to individuals or organizations within the Purdue community whose contributions embody Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of service to others and further the university’s commitment to diversity.
