Purdue celebrates its contributions to the American dream as nation turns 250
From exploration of air and space to national landmarks like the Hoover Dam and Golden Gate Bridge, the Purdue name is written across the pages of American history. In accordance with America250, Purdue will celebrate the nation’s semiquincentennial throughout 2026 and spotlight innovative pursuits by Boilermakers past and present.
Trustees ratify faculty, dean positions; approve new degree, resolutions of appreciation and namings
The Purdue University Board of Trustees ratified faculty and dean appointments and approved a new degree and resolutions of appreciation and namings.
Trustees approve winter recess for 2026
At the recommendation of President Mung Chiang, the Purdue University Board of Trustees approved the addition of a three-day winter recess from Dec. 28-30, 2026, for faculty and staff at the main (West Lafayette and Indianapolis), Fort Wayne and Northwest campuses. The three days are in addition to approved university holidays on Dec. 24-25 and Jan. 1, 2027, as well as the president’s designated holiday on Dec. 31.
President Chiang’s report to trustees
In his report to the Board of Trustees, President Mung Chiang recognized faculty who received significant sponsored research awards from September 2025 to January 2026 and thanked friends of the university for their recent generous contributions. He also provided an update on one of Purdue’s strategic initiatives, Purdue Computes, highlighting computing, physical AI, semiconductors and quantum.
Yeomans reports on strategic priorities and future direction for the College of Liberal Arts
In his presentation to the Purdue Board of Trustees, Christopher Yeomans, the Justin S. Morrill Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and professor of philosophy, highlighted the college’s strengths and future direction. He outlined three priorities: advancing Cornerstone through a new learning community, Cornerstone for Business, and the Institute for Civic Thought; expanding AI-focused curriculum and research centers; and strengthening connections to Indianapolis through internships and academic programs, positioning the college to advance critical thinking and broaden its impact.
Nodine appointed Purdue Global CEO
Purdue Global’s Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Eva Nodine as Purdue Global’s CEO, effective today (Feb. 6). As CEO, Nodine will be responsible for leading the overall Purdue Global entity, with a focus on strategic direction. Nodine has served as Purdue Global’s chief financial officer and chief operating officer since May 2024, overseeing all financial planning and accounting services, human resources, financial aid, marketing and communications, data, information technology, and legal and regulatory affairs.
Purdue Global trustees review student success results, reaffirm university’s mission
During the Purdue Global Board of Trustees meeting today (Feb. 6), Miranda Brand, dean and vice president of Purdue Global’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, provided an update on the college’s progress and future initiatives. Eva Nodine, who was appointed and affirmed as Purdue Global’s new CEO, discussed fiscal year 2025 student success results. The board also reaffirmed Purdue Global’s mission.
