The Purdue University Board of Trustees approved 2027 health plans that will feature no premium increases for employees and long-term disability members — after back-to-back years of increases. The plans align with the university’s strategic approach to healthcare and the Your Path Wellness Program, and they were designed as part of Purdue’s ongoing goal of improving population health.
The Board of Trustees approved named professorships and deanships, distinguished professors, the appointment of the new director of Intercollegiate Athletics, and resolutions of appreciation and namings.
The Board of Trustees approved its 10-year capital projects plan, a strategic document running through 2037 that will inform the university’s capital request to the state for the upcoming legislative session and beyond. The decadal plan of potential capital projects includes a second major building in Indianapolis, focused on providing spaces for health, science and engineering; a significant student union and library renovation project at Purdue University Northwest; and the first major renovation of the Potter Engineering Center since the building opened in 1977 in West Lafayette.
In his presentation to the Board of Trustees, Jim Bullard, the Dr. Samuel R. Allen Dean of the Mitch Daniels School of Business, reported on progress made during the first year of a major restructure. The restructure to nine departments has shifted accountability closer to where academic innovation occurs and has allowed the school to unlock distinct opportunities at the intersection of STEM and business. This fall the school will welcome a record-breaking number of undergraduates without compromising quality.
Presenting Purdue Global’s fiscal year 2026 impact report, CEO Eva Nodine outlined a forward-looking strategy focused on expanding land-grant access, technological innovation and long-term affordability. Building on strong operational momentum, Purdue Global is scaling its national footprint through AI learning experiences, expanded military and community college partnerships, and new academic programs. Sustainable financial growth ensures Purdue Global is positioned to continually reinvest in student success, academic quality and innovation.
During the Purdue Global Board of Trustees’ meeting, trustees received reports on record census, increased retention and financial performance for fiscal year 2026. Jennie Sanders was introduced as chief academic officer, while Carolyn Nordstrom was acknowledged for serving as provost. The board ratified administrators, vice presidents, academic officers and committee assignments, and thanked Jon Harbor for serving as interim chancellor.
