Purdue Research Foundation continues to highlight National Academy of Inventors fellows at Purdue whose collaborative, multidisciplinary research is translated into real-world technologies that benefit society. The latest fellow is Haiyan Wang, the Basil S. Turner Professor of Engineering, whose work supports industry innovation, developing and strengthening materials like ceramics and ultrahigh-strength aluminum alloys.
In “Magnetic Signatures: Advanced Analysis for Modern Systems,” Alexander Kildishev, professor of electrical and computer engineering, explores spatial harmonic analysis to characterize and manage external magnetic fields in technical systems. The book delivers rigorous mathematical foundations alongside practical implementation strategies, making it an essential resource for designing magnetically sensitive naval, spacecraft and autonomous unmanned vehicles.
As primary catalysts for Purdue’s research and teaching missions, Boilermaker students continued their impressive run of success through the National Science Foundation’s prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship Program: 23 Purdue students won fellowships in 2026 while 10 recent alums received awards to complete their PhDs at other institutions.
