Songlin Fei receives McCoy Award for groundbreaking research in digital forestry
Songlin Fei has been chosen to receive the 2025 Herbert Newby McCoy Award, which is bestowed upon the Purdue faculty member who made the greatest contributions to the field of natural sciences in the past year. Fei was selected for his breakthroughs in digital forestry and computational biology.

$1M grant expands Purdue Psychological Sciences program for helping families nationwide with infant developmental syndromes
A successful Purdue-developed tool for assessing babies who may have autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities has been reignited and expanded thanks to a $1 million grant from the National Institutes of Health.

According to Catherine Hill, professor and head of the Department of Entomology, tick activity can occur not only in spring and summer but also during winter and autumn.

Soul Asylum will go acoustic for Friday performance at Loeb Playhouse
Grammy-winning band Soul Asylum, who rose from the Minneapolis punk scene to global stardom with 1992’s “Grave Dancers Union,” will perform at Loeb Playhouse on Friday (April 10.) The group will play an acoustic set with support from Corey Glover – the powerhouse lead vocalist of the Grammy-winning rock band Living Colour.

Brenda Coulson to present at MaPSAC’s Hadley speaker series
The 2026 Richard A. Hadley Professional Development Series presentation, hosted by the Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee, will feature Brenda Coulson, senior director of talent acquisition for Purdue Human Resources. The session will take place in person from 9-10 a.m. April 16 in Pfendler Hall of Agriculture, Room 241.
