Tongcang Li receives Bement Award for innovative quantum research
Tongcang Li has been chosen to receive the 2025 Arden L. Bement Jr. Award. The award recognizes Purdue faculty for recent outstanding contributions in pure and applied science and engineering. Li, a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Science and in the Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, is a leading expert in quantum sensing, levitated optomechanics and nonequilibrium thermodynamics.

Artemis II mission launches Purdue experts, alumni into national media spotlight
The world’s attention on NASA’s Artemis II mission has led national and local media to repeatedly turn to Purdue University experts and alumni in recent days to help explain the science, significance and legacy behind humanity’s return to deep space. Coverage has highlighted Purdue’s long standing leadership and expertise in space exploration, generating more than 150 media mentions and an estimated 160 million potential impressions.

Software from tech startup Leto helps case workers connect clients with community resources
Leto Tech PBC, an Indiana startup and public benefit corporation, has launched software developed by Purdue researchers at the Regenstrief Center for Healthcare Engineering, the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and Purdue Polytechnic Institute. The software helps social service agencies and other organizations more efficiently connect their clients with community resources.

This event brought together industry leaders, faculty, postdoctoral researchers and students to explore the rapidly evolving world of robotics and its impact on our future.
