A discovery led by Purdue biologist Jason Hanna could open the door to a new way of treating one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat cancers. The research, published in RNA, identifies how the loss of small molecules that help control gene activity — called microRNAs — can trigger tumor growth, and how an existing drug may help restore their function.
Michael Manfra, chief quantum officer at Purdue and director of the Purdue Quantum Science and Engineering Institute, was formally recognized as a recipient of the 2026 APS Oliver E. Buckley Condensed Matter Physics Prize during a ceremony held in Denver.
