Women in Engineering to host high school juniors

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – High school juniors, their parents and teachers are invited to attend Juniors Exploring Engineering at Purdue, a free, daylong event sponsored by Purdue University's Women in Engineering Program, on April 11.

Students will meet professors, women engineering students and practicing women engineers. They'll have a chance to explore two engineering disciplines of their choice. Engineering disciplines included are aeronautics and astronautics, agricultural and biological, biomedical, chemical, civil, construction engineering and management, electrical and computer, environmental and ecological, industrial, materials science, mechanical and nuclear.

Representatives of first-year engineering, admissions and financial aid will be available to answer questions.

Lunch and campus tours also will be provided. There will be early registration, a reception and a tour of engineering labs in Armstrong Hall of Engineering from 7-8:30 p.m. for those arriving the night before.
