Trustees approve faculty promotions, new degree program, posthumous degree, resolutions of appreciation and naming

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Purdue University Board of Trustees on Friday (April 4) approved the promotion of 163 faculty across the Purdue University system for the 2025-26 academic year. The total includes 137 from the main campus, 17 from Purdue Fort Wayne and nine from Purdue Northwest. Trustees annually approve promotions in April, per the Purdue academic tenure and promotion policy.
Trustees also approved the creation of a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. Itwill be offered online through the West Lafayette location beginning in fall 2025. As demand for organizational leadership professionals continues to grow — rising 45% between 2013 and 2023 — this new program is designed to meet workforce needs while equipping individuals with the expertise to advance their careers. Through specialized coursework in project management, human resource development, analytics, technical communication and leadership, students will gain key skills that are highly sought after by top employers. This new offering affirms Purdue’s continued commitment to student success by providing valuable opportunities for professionals looking to enhance their leadership capabilities and career prospects.
Trustees awarded a posthumous Bachelor of Science degree in computer science to Andrew Tudor from Purdue University Fort Wayne. A posthumous degree requires that at least 85% of the credit hour requirements have been completed, including most of the requirements for the major.
In other action, trustees approved resolutions of appreciation for friends of the university who recently contributed $1 million or more to Purdue. Those are:
- Dean and Barbara White Family Foundation, to support the Mitch Daniels School of Business
- W.M. Keck Foundation, to support the College of Science
- Mary Ann Adam (dec. 2024), to support Purdue University
- Andy Berg, to support Intercollegiate Athletics
- Dorothy Shaffer, to support Purdue University Fort Wayne
- Sun Christina Lee-Such, to support the John Martinson Honors College and the College of Pharmacy
- Kiewit Companies Foundation, to support the College of Engineering
- An anonymous gift, to support the College of Science
- An anonymous gift, to support Intercollegiate Athletics
Additionally, trustees approved the following naming:
- The Lee-Such Tower of the John Martinson Honors College, in recognition of Sun Christina Lee-Such, a 1993 graduate of the College of Pharmacy
