Vivek Muralidharan, a native of Vadodara, Gujarat, India, is currently a Ph.D. student in the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Purdue University. His major field of research is Astrodynamics and Space Applications. He has been working with the Minority Engineering Program (MEP) since May 2017 and manages the MEP Academic Success Center.

Vivek graduated with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka (NITK), India. While pursuing his undergraduate degree, he worked on Formula student race cars. His undergraduate thesis is titled, "Design and Fabrication of Front and Rear Aerodynamic Wings of a Formula Student Race Car." For the 2014-15 academic year, he was elected as the captain of the NITK Racing team. He represented his university and his country at the Formula Student China competition held at Xiangyang, Hubei, China (October 2014).

Fall 2015, Vivek came to Purdue to pursue his Master's degree in Astrodynamics. As a member of Professor Kathleen Howell's Multibody Dynamics Research Group, he worked on his Master's Thesis titled, "Orbit Maintenance Strategies for Sun-Earth/Moon Libration Point Missions: Parameter Selection for Target Point and Cauchy-Green Tensor Approaches," that he defended in November 2017. He also interned at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology during the course of his Master's. Since January 2018, Vivek has been working as a full-time Ph.D. student in the same research group.

During the 2017 MEP Academic Boot Camp, Vivek worked as an instructor for the MATLAB course as well as a program manager for the Go-kart project. He eventually became a Graduate Assistant and now manages the Academic Success Center.

As a convener of the National Service Scheme chapter at his undergraduate university, NITK, 2014-15, he took up the social responsibilities of organizing blood donation drives, beach clean-up events, and many other public service activities.
