October 20-21, 2019

Purdue's Recruitment of Minorities Interested in the Schools of Engineering (PROMISE) program was established in 1975.

PROMISE sponsored by the Minority Engineering Program (MEP) is a two-day campus based recruitment effort designed for high school seniors interested in engineering. Participants learn about the admissions process, financial aid, the first year engineering curriculum and college success strategies. This event occurs before the admissions application deadline to ensure students are considered for scholarships.

The agenda includes campus and research laboratory tours, engaging meals with faculty and students, engineering projects, exposure to engineering curriculum and social activities. PROMISE program participants have the opportunity to complete/review their on-line admissions applications during this event as well. PROMISE is offered at no cost to the participants. Lodging accommodations, activities and scheduled meals are included. Students are responsible for their travel to and from the Purdue main campus.
