Purdue's Recruitment of Minorities Interested in the Schools of Engineering (PROMISE) program was established in 1975. PROMISE, sponsored by the Minority Engineering Program, is an exciting two-day event that encourages high school seniors from underrepresented communities to apply to Purdue. This agenda includes campus tours, residential hall tours, engaging meals with faculty and students, engineering projects, exposure to the engineering curriculum, and social activities.

Benefits of PROMISE

  • During this event, you'll get to see the campus, make connections and complete your Purdue application.
  • PROMISE is offered at no cost to the participants.
  • Lodging, accommodations, activities, and scheduled meals are included for the participant.
  • Student participants are responsible for their travel to and from the Purdue main campus.

COVID-19 Safety Considerations (for on-campus events)

Based upon safety considerations for PROMISE this fall, participants will need to provide evidence of either of the following:
  • Proof of vaccination
  • Proof of a negative COVID result, within 72 hours of the PROMISE program start date
