Mandela Washington Fellowship at Purdue University Young African Leaders Initiative

Get Involved

There are a number of ways individuals, businesses, and organizations can get involved with the Mandela Washington Fellowship at Purdue University:

Virtual Coaches/Mentors

We are seeking coaches/mentors to connect with the Fellows of the Mandela Washington Fellowship program virtually. One-hour sessions will be scheduled between you and your matched Fellow. Three sessions of one hour will be coordinated to share your expertise and experience. The one-hour sessions will happen during the weeks of: June 21, July 12, and July 19 of 2021. Please complete this short qualtrics survey if you are interested in being a virtual coach/mentor.

Networking Event

On July 15th, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, we are organizing a virtual entrepreneurial networking event between the Mandela Washington Fellows and Indiana entrepreneurs. We would like to promote discussions about taking your idea to market – approaches, challenges, successes, and if applicable, how you pivoted and adjusted your business and business ideas to cope with the issues related to the pandemic. This is a one-time event about your experiences to provide a chance for Fellows to ask questions and learn from your experiences. This is also an opportunity for you to establish professional and cultural ties to Fellows from 18 African countries with a potential for initiating partnerships in some of the world’s fastest growing markets and economies. If you are interested in participating in the networking event, please complete this short qualtrics survey.
