Would you like to meet other students who share a common interest in protecting the environment? The Environmental Sciences Learning Community provides you with an opportunity to explore emerging environmental problems and innovative solutions. Activities include field trips (some on weekends including camping and hiking), hands-on learning, study halls, and meals together.  Get to know faculty and your peers through social events held throughout the semester.

  • First-time beginning students admitted to any college/school/major

Residential Component

  • OPTIONAL in McCutcheon Hall
  • Information about this residence hall can be found here
  • If you choose this option, your roommate in most cases will be a member of the LC
  • Completing a housing contract is a separate process from applying for the LC

  • NRES 29000 (NOTE: students who exempt out of this course due to AP credit still qualify for the learning community)
  • NRES 49800 special topics course specific to the learning community
