Pets and Society
The “Pets & Society LC” will introduce students to the relatively new field of “anthrozoology,” that is, the Human-Animal Bond focused on companion animals (pets). Through formal classwork, special events and field trips, students will have the opportunity to learn from local experts, animal shelters, as well as visit places that support animals such as Wolf Park. Students will get to meet and interact with fellow students interested in pets and their role in society. In addition, students will become familiar with strategies and campus resources aimed at helping them successfully transition to Purdue University.
