John Kamp, PMP
Six Sigma Black Belt
John is an independent consultant with extensive business background spanning over 30 years in various industries including architectural, engineering and construction (AEC), manufacturing, technology, legal, finance, healthcare, transportation, food services, facilities management and service related industries.
He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and holds international credentials as a Project Management Professional (PMP)® through PMI and is a member of PMI in good standing. John is an online instructor in the Purdue Online Engineering department instructing Lean Principles, and Project Management Essentials. He utilizes his cross functional skills in Agile, Project Management and Lean and Six Sigma methods in a variety of business settings focusing on generating new and exciting ideas, improving interpersonal skills, and boosting company culture, productivity, standardization, stabilization, and continuous improvement.
John has held roles at the executive level as director, president and CEO. He is proficient in directional vision analysis, strategic execution, change management, process development, business process re-engineering, and cross-functional team progression. John has led international business development workshops, at the “C” level in operations, finance, sales and marketing with Fortune 500 companies.
John has been involved in both publicly and privately held corporations, startups, rescuing struggling ventures, launching products and new corporate divisions with tremendous results. John’s is passionate and focused on exceeding customer requirements and expectations through identifying, analyzing and improving value added business processes, team building, communication, and reduction of waste. John is proficient in vendor relations and negotiations. John has also been instrumental in developing, growing, and leading international trade associations, software launches, developing sales programs and sales certification programs.
An accomplished international public speaker and experienced facilitator, John has led multiple training and educational seminars both domestically and internationally in Project Management, Scrum, business process improvement, business development, change management, communication, and sharing of best business practices. He is continuously motivating and developing people and companies to reach a higher level of potential.
John is an Honorably Discharged US Navy Veteran of 12 years with advanced training in electronics, technology, recruiting, technical publications, aircraft quality control and safety. John and his wife Lauren have been married 25 years and reside in Concord, California where they have raised their four children, and are now lovingly involved in the lives of their four beautiful grandchildren.
Brad J. Actis, PMP
Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt
Brad has more than 27 years of experience in manufacturing, project management, quality process management, training, and development. As a Master Black Belt, Brad has helped his current employer, Rolls-Royce, transform the company’s global engineering by expanding Lean Sigma certifications from three to 130 between 2006 and 2011, which increased savings by 114 percent and $13 million.
Brad has also served as a Black Belt II manager, leading a 30-member team of Black Belts and Green Belts and nearly 30 Black Belt and Green Belt certifications, as well as teaching close to 500 employees. Brad’s experience also encompasses quality process management, leading 135 Lean Six Sigma projects at a 3,000-employee plant and creating annual savings of more than $5 million.
Brad is a certified Green Belt and MiniTab trainer. His mission as an instructor is to help others succeed by sharing his knowledge and leadership experience, coaching, and mentoring.
Cara McCurdy has extensive experience as an academic advisor, actively identifying and resolving student needs as quickly and effectively as possible. As a Program Advisor for the Purdue Lean Six Sigma program, Cara proactively reaches out to new and future students to help them through the registration process.
