Avanzando to Success is an UnidosUS program implemented and faciliated by the Latino Cultural Center  that supports third, fourth, and fifth-year postsecondary students by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and support necessary to successfully navigate postsecondary completion. 

Objectives of the program:

1) Strengthen postsecondary students’ skills as well as equip them with resources, information, and support systems that will help them successfully obtain a bachelor's degree and prepare for the workforce.
2) Support postsecondary students’ career pursuits in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to increase access to and entry into STEM-related careers.
3) Leverage postsecondary students’ cultural assets and funds of knowledge to successfully navigate postsecondary pathways using an evidence-based, culturally affirming curriculum.
4) Empower postsecondary students to be agents of change in shaping cultural, social, and political systems in the U.S.

Eligibility

  • First-Generation College Student or
  • Latino/a/x/e or Hispanic and
  • Year 3, 4, 5 Purdue University (WL, Indianapolis Campuses) Undergraduate Student

  • April 8th: Navigating Bank Options & Student Loans  
  • April 15th: Introduction to Personal Finance
