Welcome Back to the LCC!

We are so excited to welcome students back to campus! We are open to faculty, staff and students. Please read below to see how the LCC will operate this semester in order to Protect Purdue and keep us all safe. We can't wait to see you.

Please watch the video below for more information on our operations.

M-F, 8AM-11AM: Virtual Hours by Appointment
M-F, 12PM-4PM: Open to Visitors (Visitor Capacity is 14)

Worried there's not enough space inside the LCC? Check the occupancy before you stop by!

Guidelines for Visiting the LCC

  • Step 1: Make sure you are wearing a mask. Be sure to use hand sanitizer once you enter the LCC.
  • Step 2: Scan In using the QR code before you enter the Maricela Alvarado lounge.
  • Step 3: Look for the tape markers on the floor and seating to figure out where to sit. Maintain at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and anyone else in the room.
  • Step 4: If you want to use the computer lab or social lounge, check the capacity signs next to the doorway before you enter.
  • Step 5: Have fun! If you have any questions or need assistance, ask a staff member.

All visitors to the LCC must comply with Purdue University’s policies regarding personal protective equipment and social distancing.

Visitors who are exhibiting symptoms of a potential COVID-19 infection must follow Purdue University’s rules for testing and quarantining before they can return to the LCC.

We encourage you to view a virtual tour of the Latino Cultural Center. Due to limited capacity of the building, tours will not be held this semester.

We are not accepting reservations for group gatherings due to the limited capacity in each room deemed necessary by Protect Purdue and CDC Guidelines. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We still have all of your favorite snacks. Check the refrigerator door for the list of snacks available at the LCC. Let any LCC Staff member know what you'd like and they will set it on the counter for you. We still have cafecito for you, too! Ask for cafecito or water and we will bring it out to you. We are unable to use your personal cups or to reuse plastic cups at this time.

The microwave and toaster oven are still available to use. Make sure to sanitize hands, use, and clean any surfaces you touch while at the LCC. If you need to use the refrigerator to store your lunch, ask an LCC staff member for help!

We are happy to support you during this time. Don't be shy to ask for food or drink items!

Hand Sanitizer and Disinfectant Wipes

Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes are available throughout the LCC, and at every seating area. We ask that you sanitize, touch, disinfect every surface you use while at the LCC.

We have surgical masks available for our guests. We also have a limited supply of reusable cloth masks generously sewn and donated by the Lafayette Sewing Masks group.

If you are in a virtual class, grab a sign located in the Maricela Alvardo Lounge so that other guests know you're in class.

Each seating area has a sign on it that lets guests know if a station has been or needs to be sanitized. We ask that you sanitize your station upon leaving; however, if you're running late to your next destination, please leave the sign on the "please disinfect" side so that a staff member knows to clean the spot for our next guess.

Each room at the LCC has a maximum capacity sign and a signage on the floor that marks a safe-distance from the person in the same room. Please observe these capacities while at the LCC
