Martin C. Jischke International Student of the Year Award

The Martin C. Jischke Outstanding International Student of the Year Award is presented annually each spring to honor a student who has not only excelled academically, but who has also clearly demonstrated a commitment to service - specifically in welcoming and connecting peoples of all cultures.

Faculty and staff are invited to nominate students who best fulfill the following requirements:

  • Graduating senior who has attained a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.00 (Graduating senior” is an undergraduate graduating in December 2022, May 2023 or August 2023.)
  • Commitment to Scholarship (demonstrated through academic achievement or recognition in research, publications, presentations, etc.)
  • Commitment to Leadership (demonstrated in their major department, student organization or employment affiliation)
  • Commitment to Service (demonstrated in how they welcome and connect peoples of all cultures)
  • Outstanding Character

A call for nominations will go out to all faculty and staff in February 2023.

All nominations must be submitted electronically in the 2023 Martin C. Jischke International Student Award Nomination Form by 12:00 P.M. on Friday, March 17th, 2023. The award recipient will be selected in late March and receive a monetary award from the Martin C Jischke Endowment.
