Upcoming IL sessions on exam resources, Gradescope, Brightspace

Instructors can learn more about resources for assessment during several Innovative Learning (IL) training sessions through September.

  • Register for a session on Sept. 23, 1-2 p.m. (note updated time) that will provide an in-depth look at Purdue’s new digital proctoring tool, Examity, and walk through the setup process for proctored exams.
  • On Sept. 23, 2-3 p.m., IL will offer a wide-ranging discussion of resources and guidance for delivering and supporting exams in face-to-face, online and hy-flex courses. Topics will include academic integrity, digital proctoring, paper processing, and ensuring accessibility. Speakers will include representatives from the Office of Student Rights and Responsibility, the Center for Instructional Excellence, the Disability Resource Center, Purdue Online, and Institutional Data Processing. There will be time for questions at the end of the session. Registration is open and the session will be recorded for future distribution.
  • Learn how to improve your grading process using Gradescope, a third-party grading platform that improves the speed and consistency of grading, on Sept. 24, 11 a.m. to noonRegister for this session to hear Dr. Kari Clase from Agricultural and Biological Engineering share how she’s used Gradescope in her classes over the last two years.
  • Innovative Learning continues its Brightspace Deep Dives on Sept. 28, 3-3:30 p.m., with a look at how to better organize and maintain your Gradebook in Brightspace. Register for this session to look at a variety of Gradebook options, including weighted and formula-based grading, and how they can fit with your overall course planning process.
