Professional Credential Information for Veterinary Nursing Program

Purdue University’s Veterinary Nursing Distance Learning (VNDL) program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). Graduates of the VNDL program are eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE), which leads to a professional credential as a Veterinary Technician/Nurse in all 50 states.

The following link is for a website maintained by the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB). The AASVB website maintains a database that contains the requirements for becoming credentialed in any of the 50 states.

Once you have arrived at the AAVSB webpage, click on the “Public Resources” tab towards to the top right side of the page, and then click “Find Board Information.” Scroll down on the page and under the heading “Board and Agency Directory” you will see an area where you can select either Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician. Select Veterinary Technician and then click the drop-down arrow and select your state.
