Instructors can learn more about topics such as using student feedback and performance data for teaching improvement, on-demand Brightspace training, and finalizing gradebook in the following April sessions. Faculty should register for their campus sessions offered by the Innovative Learning Team at West Lafayette, the Office of Instructional Technology and Center for Faculty Excellence at Purdue Northwest, and the Purdue Fort Wayne Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT).

Teaching and Learning Community of Practice

Monday, April 4, 12-1 p.m. ET

Writing across the curriculum (WAC) is an evidence-based pedagogy that facilitates student success. Join us in a discussion on how to incorporate writing in courses across the university, including support and innovations available to instructors and students. We will also discuss crafting and assessing both formative and summative writing assignments. You will have time to /make connections with instructors across different majors to explore writing project partnerships.

Finalizing Your Brightspace Gradebook

Tuesday, April 19, 11-11:50 a.m. ET

This session will review the steps faculty should take to finalize their Brightspace gradebook. Presenters will cover some of the most common issues that Teaching and Learning Technologies receive about Brightspace grades at the end of each semester, show how to publish your final grades in Brightspace, and demonstrate how to translate those scores into letter grades and send them to MyPurdue/Banner.
