Parent and Community Resources

Indiana GEAR UP is looking for parents and community members to join our team as mentors, volunteers, or to help sponsor food or activities with our partnering schools. Please check out the other areas of our website to learn more about our program.

Volunteers

Our after-school programming is two days a week at each of our partnering schools. The program requires having several adults to help with activities. There is no prior experience required. If you are interested in volunteering to help with afterschool programming at one of our Indiana GEAR UP schools, please contact Jill Aichinger at gearupoffice@purdue.edu.

Mentors

An important part of our Indiana GEAR UP Program is exposing our students to mentors who work in STEM disciplines and other areas of industry. We are seeking adults who would be willing to devote some of their time (from as little as an hour a week) to mentor students in one or more of our schools. There is no prior experience required — we will equip you with the tools you will need to be successful! If you are interested in serving as a mentor, please contact Jill Aichinger at gearupoffice@purdue.edu.
