About Max

Your contact for the oddball questions.

Chris (Max) Maxwell’s role as Senior Analyst in the IDA+A Analytics Team is to provide answers to questions stakeholders have about Purdue University that involve both local and external data. Maxwell produces datasets that feed the Data Digest and Self Service tools, completes surveys, prepares data exchange files, produces annual reports, does compliance reporting (State and Federal) and provides quick turnaround for numerous ad-hoc data requests.

Maxwell is well versed in student data but has particular expertise in HR data, assisting that unit in preparing official files, reports and counts. With 20 years of experience in Purdue University institutional research, Maxwell can also provide long term longitudinal trends that require queries and merges across multiple data sources. Maxwell often performs analysis that drill into or roll up to Purdue University’s official numbers.

Maxwell has a MS degree in Physical Chemistry from Indiana University, specializing in computational/quantum methods. Maxwell has given about three dozen presentations, demonstrations and workshops at local and national conferences on institutional research tools and techniques.
