Anthem livens up access to health care with LiveHealth Online services

For those who have ever had an illness or injury hit them out of the blue, at the most inconvenient time – such as the middle of the night, on vacation or after your doctor’s office and urgent care centers have closed – and you need to see a doctor, you now have another option, literally at your fingertips.

LiveHealth Online provides you immediate, real-time access to doctors any time of the day or night. As an additional health care service for employees, LiveHealth Online was recently introduced as part of Purdue’s medical plans for 2017. However, LiveHealth Online services are available to all employees and their dependents regardless of your benefits eligibility or if you have opted out of a Purdue health plan.

As its name implies, LiveHealth Online is available anywhere an employee has a computer or mobile device with internet access. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, LiveHealth Online makes it even easier to see a doctor for certain health care needs such as headache, cough, cold, allergies, flu and more.

It’s a great option for care when your own doctor isn’t available – and it’s more convenient than a trip to urgent care.

Online visits using LiveHealth Online are a covered benefit under your Purdue medical plan.

  • 24/7 access to board-certified doctors in minutes.
  • Immediate, secure and private video visits.
  • Prescriptions sent directly to your pharmacy, if needed.*
  • Quick care for the flu, a cold, sore throat, fever, skin rash or infection, pink eye and more!

* Prescription availability is defined by physician judgment and state regulations. Visit the home page of to view the service map by state.

LiveHealth Online also offers mental health services. You will be able to speak with a psychologist or therapist via online communication through your computer, smart phone or tablet.

LiveHealth is connected with Anthem, and if you are covered on a Purdue health plan, LiveHealth will bill Anthem directly for services provided. You will simply pay the following fees at the time of service:

Acute care - $49
Therapist - $80
Psychologist - $95
