Be sure to review your enrollment summary

Each step of the benefits enrollment process is important. As you know, this is your time to review your current selections and make adjustments as needed to best suit you and your covered family members.

After you have completed the necessary steps to enroll, you will be shown a summary of your benefit plan for 2016.

“Employees are strongly encouraged to take time at the end of the online enrollment process to review the final summary page showing all of their choices for 2016,” said Eva Nodine, director of benefits in Human Resources. “Review dependents you have elected to cover, review beneficiaries, make sure your tobacco certification status matches what is accurate for you and your spouse and ensure all your benefit elections are accurate.”

This is your confirmation of benefits, so to speak, and provides an opportunity for you to review the content to make sure you have selected the benefits you want before the deadline for allowing changes has passed. You are also encouraged to print and/or save a copy of the confirmation for your records. 

“It’s equivalent to reviewing your order before you check out when you’re shopping online. You want to be sure you have exactly what you want in your benefits cart,” said Nodine.

Nodine urges you to take advantage of this final review opportunity to help avoid any misunderstandings of coverage at a later point. In EBenefits you will have the option to print, save or have your summary of benefits emailed to you for your records and are encouraged to do so.  

“This is one of the most important reminders we can offer to help make sure everyone is enrolled exactly as they choose for the new year,” Nodine said.
