Coming soon – New anthem ID cards

Because of our addition of the HealthSync network, employees soon will receive Anthem ID cards at their homes for each family member covered on a Purdue medical plan as well as for those who chose to opt out of Purdue medical insurance but elected one of the dental plan coverage options.

The one card will hold medical, prescription and dental information. It is important to watch for these cards -- which will include new ID number prefixes of P3R instead of PRR. Beginning Jan. 1, 2020, you will need to provide your new ID card to your medical and dental providers and pharmacies. Information on current cards will not be valid after Dec. 31; therefore, you should replace your old card with the new version on January 1.

Prior to receiving your card in the mail, employees can download the Anthem Sydney app on their mobile device. Using your current Anthem login information, you can access your new Anthem ID card. Information and instructions on the Anthem Sydney app can be found here.

Change in Carrier – Short Term and Long Term Disability

Effective January 1, 2020, any new short term disability (STD) or long term disability (LTD) claims will be processed by Guardian Life Insurance. STD coverage is available to all administrative and operational support and skilled trade employees after one year of service. This program helps protect your income until you are able to return to work or until you become eligible for long term disability. LTD insurance, available for all benefit eligible employees, provides income replacement during extended periods of disability resulting from illness or injury. More information on how to make a claim after January 1 will be made available on the HR benefits website.
