Healthy Boiler Portal offers a wealth of health and wellness resources and information
The Healthy Boiler Portal has a new look and feel as a result of its January 2019 refresh based on feedback received from faculty and staff in 2018. In addition to the new intuitive updates, a variety of other health and wellness resources remain available for your use. Once you’re connected with the portal, you have five main areas of information to utilize found under the tabs in the top navigation – Home, Engage, Track, Earn and Learn.
Home page
The rotating image in the top left tile of the home page shares six different items of information that continually change based on time of year and what is planned for Healthy Boiler. The “2019 Incentive Status” is a new feature on the home page that clearly identifies if an individual has met his or her requirements for earning 2019 incentives. The “Wellness Events” tile outlines upcoming health and wellness programs offered by the Center for Healthy Living (on Purdue’s West Lafayette campus) and is where individuals will register to attend those programs. Additional resources – specific to “Help you Get Started” and “Wellness” – can be found at the bottom of the home page.
Engage tab
This tab provides you with a list of the latest news and competitions, wellness events, success stories, information on Benefits Ambassadors and other programs and tools available to the Healthy Boiler community.
Track tab
You can track your individual progress related to fitness, nutrition, wellness activities, your biometric data and more. Within the track tab, the “Tracker Dashboard” provides you a spot to log stats, calories, goals and competitions. You can also integrate devices and apps (such as FitBit) that you use to track fitness-related items. FAQs about the Healthy Boiler portal also are found here.
The dashboard will easily provide you with a look at where you are and where you are going in regards to your unique, customizable health and wellness goals.
Earn tab
The Earn tab is where all the action needed to receive the incentive takes place in regards to the Healthy Boiler Wellness Program. As a reminder, the 2019 Healthy Boiler Wellness Program runs from Oct. 1, 2018, through Sept. 30, 2019. All benefits-eligible employees and spouses covered on a Purdue medical plan have the opportunity to earn $325 (employee only coverage) or $650 (employee plus spouse, employee plus child or employee plus family coverage) by having an annual physical and biometrics screening done within the previously stated timeframe.
Within in the Earn tab is where the provider form is located (to download and take to your annual physical and biometrics screening), where you will enter your biometric values once completed and where you will confirm that you have completed this activity. You will also see your “2019 Incentive Status” here as well.
Learn tab
The Learn tab, as its name suggests, offers a wide-range of health and wellness educational materials. Tiles within the Learn tab feature information related to “Get Active,” “Eat Right,” “Live Healthy” and “Calculators.” The information and tips here are to help you and those you care about find ways to eat better, get more physically active and make healthy choices. Each tile is a resource library of sorts specific to each category. The variety of health and wellness calculators (including Body Mass Index, Calories Burned and Time to Reach Goal Weight) can help you monitor your progress and stay on track.
Overall, the Healthy Boiler Portal is a well-rounded resource conveniently accessible via your computer, smart phone, tablet, etc. that can assist you in not only earning the 2019 Healthy Boiler incentive, but also to help you in all areas of your health and wellness journey.
To register
To access all that that the portal has to offer, be sure to register or login at www.healthyboiler.com. Employees and covered spouses who have not yet registered will need to do so to access the site. Please note: employees must register and login first in order to allow spousal access to the site.
To register from the link above:
- Click the REGISTER button (in gold)
- When prompted, provide employee first name (as it appears on pay stub)
- Provide last name (as it appears on pay stub)
- Enter Employee ID number including two leading zeros, for a total of 10 digits
- Continue with the steps as prompted to finish registration
- Please DISREGARD the referral code box, unless you have received an email invitation, with a referral code, from a spouse or a friend.
