The Center for Healthy Living—Purdue’s on-site health facility for faculty and staff, provides preventive care services – wellness screenings, physicals, check-ups – and also treats your illnesses and chronic conditions.

In addition, the Center provides many no-cost services and programs including: tobacco cessation programs, health coaching, nutrition support, medication therapy management and employee assistance - counseling services.

LiveHealth Online

As an added wellness benefit to Purdue employees, LiveHealth Online – a service provided by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Purdue’s medical plan administrator – offers 24-hour access to physicians and mental health providers via computer, smart phone or tablet wherever internet access is available.

  • Immediate, secure and private video visits.
  • Prescriptions sent directly to your pharmacy, if needed.*
  • Quick care for the flu, a cold, sore throat, fever, skin rash or infection, pink eye and more.

* Prescription availability is defined by physician judgment and state regulations.

Services are available to all employees and their dependents regardless of their benefits eligibility or if they have opted out of a Purdue health plan. If you are covered on a Purdue medical plan, LiveHealth Online visits are a covered benefit under your medical plan.

Virta Clinic – Diabetes and Prediabetes Management Program

A benefit for Purdue employees with type 2 diabetes and prediabetes that provides a customized care plan unique to each person. The program is designed to quickly, safely and sustainably lower A1c and lose weight—while helping to eliminate diabetes medications—all at no cost to you.*

*The blood work and EKG tests required for enrollment into Virta should be run through your health insurance plan, and may involve an out-of-pocket copay or expense for you.
