Indiana is one of the major watermelon and cantaloupe producing states. Variety selection based on yield, disease resistance, fruit quality is one of the critical decisions in production. Southwest Purdue Ag Center Field Day was held on June 28. HLA graduate students Jeanine Arana, Emmanuel Cooper, Emerson Luna, and Extension specialists Petrus Langenhoven and Wenjing Guan presented at the field day. We had 40-50 attendance participate in the Horticulture Tour.



Congratulations to Kranthi Varala and Celina Gomez for receiving 2023 AgSEED grants. The 2023 Indiana Horticultural Conference and Expo was held January 23 and 24 at the Beck Agricultural Center in West Lafayette.
