HLA Professor Lori Hoagland participated in a multidisciplinary workshop on Climate Change Policy and Research in Nicosia, Cyprus. The workshop was jointly hosted by The Arava Institute and The Cyprus Institute. A news release from Purdue University highlights recent funding for the Arequipa Nexus Institute’s Phase 3 project. Dr. Lori Hoagland is co-director of the institute, a unique collaboration between Universidad Nacional de San Agustín and Purdue University with a focus on key challenges to create a sustainable future for the people of Arequipa, Peru.
ESE/HLA Graduate student Cristian Salinas and HLA Professor Lori Hoagland attended the 4th Plant Microbiome Symposium in Quito, Ecuador. Salinas received a scholarship to help defray the cost of his attendance at the event, and presented a poster titled ‘The role of seed transmitted endophytes in quinoa tolerance to cadmium stress’.
