Dr. Mike Dana and Karen Mitchell hosted The Garden History in Ireland Study Abroad Program for Master Gardeners and their guests from June 28th through July 9th. A couple participants may have lost their luggage, but they all gained the experience of a lifetime, 40 continuing education hours, and new friends.
On Thursday, June 2, Lori Hoagland, Karen Mitchell with Nathan Shoaf (Purdue Extension/Urban Agriculture Program) partnered with SWCD’s Urban Soil Health Director, Elli Blaine, to host the “Get the Dirt: Urban Soil Health Conference” for over 100 participants. The conference was followed by a farm tour and dinner at Maple Hill Farm in West Point.
On a windy, chilly Saturday HLA’s Spring Fest tent was abuzzed with excited attendees. Children and adults were lined up to get our famous plant necklaces. Ashley Adair presented the Organic Gardening topic for the Purdue EMG Advanced Training Series on 3-24-22, with Karen Mitchell and John Orick facilitating.
John Orick, Karen Mitchell, and Pam Fisher prepared the Plant Info To Go Booth for the Indiana Flower and Patio Show on March 9. Purdue Extension Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to answer gardening questions during the show. The show will run March 12-20 at Expo Hall in the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
