Ada Martinez Ayala and Marian Luis (postdocs in Hoagland Lab) attended the Great Lakes Expo: Fruit, Vegetable and Farm Market held in Grand Rapids, MI on December 5-7, 2023. They attended topics related to soil health, greenhouse vegetable production, disease and insect pest management, and successful farm practices for obtaining high quality crops.

  A new paper from the Hoagland Lab, led by former visiting scholar Usama Marghoob, has been published in Frontiers in Microbiology: Diversity and functional traits of indigenous soil microbial flora associated with salinity and heavy metal concentrations in agricultural fields within the Indus Basin region, Pakistan


The Hoagland Lab welcomed new visiting scholar, Leilei Zhang, currently a PhD student at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy. During her internship here at Purdue, Leilei will conduct studies investigating the impacts of different types of microplastics on critical plant and microbial processes.
