Sponsored Internship and Study Abroad in China

Application

Now accepting applicants for 2019: May - November

HHS students who meet the University's general study abroad requirements are eligible to apply.

Students are encouraged to submit a formal application as early as May 2018, but no later than Nov. 20, 2018. On average, 12 internships are available each year. Offers are usually made within six weeks of receiving the application.

 

About the Program

Fairmont Nanjing
Nanjing Shangdi-La Hotel

This unique study abroad experience combines 12 credits of academic learning, professional training and an immersive cultural experience over a 6-month period (mid-May through November) at one of several five-star luxury hotels located in China.

This program is financially sponsored by Purdue corporate partners. The corporate sponsorships pay for most of the program expenses including international airfare, room and board, stipends and other benefits.

  • Shangri-La Hotel, Guangzhou
  • Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao
  • Shangri-La Hotel, Suzhou
  • Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Tainan (Taiwan)

Participants who successfully complete the program will earn 12 credit hours towards an HTM degree for HTM majors or towards a CSR degree for CSR majors.  Talk with your advisor for more details.

2019 Estimated Program Fee: $9,500-$9,900 including tuition, international airfare, and room and boardParticipants may be eligible for a Purdue University study abroad scholarship.

IMPORTANT: You must talk with a HTM or CSR advisor to discuss your plan of study before applying for this program.
