HHS Fair for Study Abroad and Intercultural Learning

The College of Heath and Human Sciences organizes a college-wide fair at the beginning of fall and spring semesters to promote opportunities of intercultural learning and study abroad programs led by HHS faculty and staff, as well as those coordinated by Purdue University Office for Study Abroad, offered by other colleges, and co-sponsorship programs.  Also invited to the fair are Asian American and Asian Resource and Cultural Center (AAARCC), Black Cultural Center (BCC), Latino Cultural Center (LCC), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) Center, Native American Educational and Cultural Center (NAECC), Purdue Peace Corp, Krannert, Honors college Fullbright award programs, and Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research (CILMAR).

Until fall 2018, the primary focus of the fair was to promote overseas experiential learning and recruiting students into study abroad programs. Since then, the fair has also become a venue to showcase the intercultural learning outcomes of these programs and for students to interact with the cultural centers. Future fairs will continue and enhance the features of intercultural learning and opportunities of global education.

HHS Fair for Study Abroad and Intercultural Learning usually takes place on the afternoon of last Wednesday in August for the fall semester, immediately after the university study abroad fair. The HHS Fair for the spring semester is usually held on the afternoon of last Wednesday in August.
