Janet Proctor

Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas is the place I think of as my hometown, but I lived in 5 other places prior to college, and West Lafayette is the 5th place I've landed during my college and post-college years.

  • B.S. in Psychology, University of Texas-Arlington
  • M.S. in Experimental Psychology, University of Texas-Arlington
  • Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology, University of Texas-Arlington

Work Experience:

Prior to beginning my work as Lead Academic Advisor for Psychological Sciences at Purdue, I held a variety of instructor or faculty positions at Lee County Community College, Auburn University, and Purdue University. In those positions I taught Introductory Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Sensation/Perception, and Educational Psychology and conducted visual perception research.

Advice for Boilermakers:

Engage. Be active in the classroom, and get involved in experience-building activities related to your career goals.
