Advice for Boilermakers:

Purdue is full of resources and opportunities. Some of these resources are other people, and some of these opportunities are meeting other people. So, leave your residence hall and visit a friend’s. Have lunch in a different dining court each week. Study in a library, at the WALC, in a coffee shop, in the lobbies of academic buildings, or anywhere else you might run into someone. Read the event bulletin boards. Tell a classmate you’re grabbing a coffee after class – ask if they’d like to come. Google one professor per week and talk to them about their research after class. Make a group chat for every small lecture course you take, and let your classmates know when you’re studying and where. If you don’t reach out, who will? Don’t wait for others to take the first step. Life-changing opportunities often come from chance meetings, lucky coincidences, or simply being in the right place at the right time.

Fun Facts:

  • I’m a Ravenclaw.
  • I am a proud Francophile – a lover of all things French. (Chocolate, coffee, croissants, and two-hour lunch breaks are at the top of the list.)
  • I once memorized 210 digits of pi to win a $5 gift card for – you guessed it – pie.
